Top-fixed brackets are often used with precast concrete planks or in office-to-residential conversions. The bracket connects to the top of the slab using an L-shaped plate. Pull-out resistance must be verified—especially for thin planks—and may require through-fixings. Reducing balcony weight with aluminium Cassette® systems minimises the number of required penetrations. Slab orientation relative to the balcony is critical to managing rotational forces effectively.
