Designed to support the deck, balustrade, and soffits. Sapphire’s Cassette® frames use a modular 400mm design, allowing for standardised sizes that maximise cost efficiency, while still offering flexibility for bespoke widths and projections when needed.

Most balconies use an open Cassette® frame, which works similarly to floor joists—with ‘rafters’ spanning front to back and ‘noggins’ providing lateral support. This open structure allows rainwater to drain freely while providing enough support for various deck finishes, soffits, and glass balustrades. In specific scenarios—like when using tiles or on thinner slabs—a closed Cassette® frame may be used for added structural integrity.

Slim Cassette®:
A shallower frame designed for projects with limited floor-to-floor height or thin slabs. Ideal when minimal build-up is required, such as for tiled finishes or tight threshold constraints.
Deep Cassette®:
A deeper, more versatile frame that allows greater spanning capability, improved rainwater drainage, and easier integration of soffits and balustrades. Commonly used across a wide range of applications.
