Key Accountabilities

Job Specific

  • Responsible for design and delivery requests and coordinating installations (as applicable) of balconies and/or balustrade on allocated projects
  • Manage the budget, programme and customer relationship on allocated projects through positive collaboration with Sapphire functional teams including sales, purchasing, commercial, quality and site liaison.
  • Authority Level includes:

    ➢ Release of designs and drawings to external parties and customer
    ➢ Spends that are within the Stage 2 CTC and agreed budgets.
    ➢ Authority to instruct extra variations up to a spend of £2,000.

  • Review Sales brief (project specification) against drawings and documents received to understand the project and specification requirements. Raise RFI(s) to the client for any items requiring clarity.
  • Review price calculator budget and formulate cost plan based on best estimate to agree Stage 2 budget to set starting GP% for managing project to completion. Formulate Stage 3 budgets (Buying targets) for use by purchasing and Site Liaison
  • Review documents sent or issued /uploaded onto design portals. Raise any revisions of specification that will increase the cost of design with Sapphire commercial team to ensure instructions are obtained to cover additional cost before changes are actioned.

Design

  • Strive to Value Engineer each design to minimize Sapphire cost and maximize profit
  • Instruct CAD Designer as to project requirements, goals and deadlines. Review [all] drawings and submit for internal sign off.
  • Work with structural engineer as necessary to provide structural calculations (and testing where applicable via R&D team) to confirm design meets required performance criteria for each project.
  • Arrange and prepare presentation for Design Review Meeting and action any changes or improvements raised in meeting
  • Formulate and submit to customer (including structural calculations). Follow up with customer/architect/engineer until written approval obtained. Take account and/or action any comments received.

Reporting

  • Request and issue supporting documentation to purchasing team for all material and service requirements. Lead and support purchasing strategy and work with purchasing team to maximize value.
  • Upload all assembly and production drawings and accompanying instructions to supplier system and work with supplier to ensure smooth and efficient assembly.
  • Completion of weekly KPI excel template
  • Regular updates of Monday.com
  • Update monthly reports including Cost to complete (to be presented to Directors) and project tracker.

Quality

  • Work with Quality Manager to review Quality Plan for each project
  • Health, Safety & Environmental
  • Oversee issuance of O&M manual

Qualifications

  • Degree, HND, BTEC or similar.
  • Project Management Certification would be preferred.
  • Full UK Driving License, preferably clean.
  • CSCS card.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Five or more years of progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in similar construction project and contract management roles; including contract and commercial negotiation, project administration, management, reporting, quality and health and safety standards
  • Management experience strongly preferred
  • Five plus years track record of working effectively with construction procedures and material and project management principles including time with modular off-site construction.
  • Five plus years within the facade or balcony industry
