Role Purpose & Scope

As a rapidly growing medium-sized family-owned business, Sapphire Balconies are looking for a forward-thinking and creative Technical Sales Lead to support and help manage the sales pipeline for assigned territories or customers.

The role is responsible for ensuring appropriate and timely sales activities to generate sales in line with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Pipeline Management
  • Manage the sales pipeline, primarily focusing on stages 4–9
  • Assess customer needs and develop suitable value propositions
  • Follow up sales meeting actions in a timely manner
  • Handle commercial negotiations and objections
  • Complete detailed internal sales handovers after securing orders
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Provide regular sales reports to the Sales Manager and Director
  • Attend pre-order meetings and assist with commercial issues, terms, payment issues, and site-related matters
Sales Strategy
  • Work with estimators and the Sales Manager to develop win strategies for projects
  • Conduct telesales activities and arrange appointments
  • Identify key stakeholders and decision-makers within client organisations
  • Support “Top-Down” selling strategies and director-level relationship building
  • Attend face-to-face customer meetings to:
    • Build rapport
    • Assess customer needs
    • Understand buying processes
    • Present company solutions and presentations
Project Technical Analysis
  • Review project drawings and specifications to understand client requirements
  • Identify technical challenges and project complexities
  • Coordinate with the pre-construction team to provide project-specific solutions
  • Attend design meetings with clients and architects to present technical solutions
Commercial Understanding
  • Work with the Sales Manager and Estimator on:
    • Proposal specifications
    • Pricing strategies
    • Product options
  • Use estimating tools and pricing calculators to support pricing decisions
Reporting
  • Update CRM systems daily with calls and actions
  • Update GAP scores weekly to track opportunities
  • Work with Sales Management quarterly to prepare:
    • Worst-case forecasts
    • Likely forecasts
    • Best-case forecasts
Business Development & Market Awareness
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and market developments
  • Understand competitor strengths and weaknesses
  • Build relationships with industry contacts and subject matter experts
  • Adapt to different client empathy profiles
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Identify and mitigate business risks throughout the sales process
  • Work with Commercial and Technical teams to assess:
    • Contractual risks
    • Design deviations
    • Technical concerns
  • Understand relevant regulations and demonstrate compliance to clients
